GLBT

I came from an understanding household. I am bisexual, my sister was a lesbian. Our parents loved us unconditionally. However, society is not so kind. My sister was "out" in high school and said that she wouldn't have wished that aftermath on anyone--it was much worse than she anticipated. This was a decade ago in California. Considering California is the most liberal of the states, I can only imagine how much worse it would be elsewhere. No wonder the suicide rate for GLBT teenagers is significantly higher than the heterosexual population. It's not that they are inherently "messed up", it's often that they feel hopeless after being outcast from society.

Someone's sexual preference shouldn't be anyone else's concern unless that person is hitting on you or you like them. If someone is making unwanted advances, it doesn't matter which sex they are. If you are interested in someone who is not attracted to your gender, that is the same as liking someone who doesn't like you back. It's not a big deal. People need to grow up and stop judging each other.
