Hurricane Katrina

For anyone who has not been watching the news, it is important to keep up on what Hurricane Katrina is all about. Here are some very powerful pictures: http://www.poynterextra.org/Katrina/gallery/index.htm. Please spend the time to look at them. This is important. This is catastrophic for those who lived in Katrina's path and this will affect everybody in one way or another.

Not sure what’s going on? Read about it! http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9156612/

This will not end in a few weeks or months. Long-term, possibly lifetime, damage has been done here. The physical damage is absolutely atrocious, but the mental damage may last longer. http://www.nytimes.com/2005/09/04/national/nationalspecial/04coping.html

Let me say that am not a Bush supporter anymore. I voted for him the first time but by re-election time I realized I had made a big mistake and voted for Kerry instead. Bush has been the worst president during my lifetime. He could have saved numerous lives that were lost during Hurricane Katrina. It really is appalling how little he cared: http://www.ledgeofliberty.com/2005/09/katrina_timelin.html

I am completely disgusted with Bush. While I don't like Michael Moore, he gets it right in his letter to Bush: http://www.michaelmoore.com/words/message/index.php. If the rich white retirees of Florida would have gotten hit by the worst part of the hurricane, Bush would have been on it. I believe race definitely plays a role here and Bush felt that the black people killed were just expendable anyway. Very sad and disgusting….
