Today is a day for love and lovers.

Luckily, I love myself! ;)

Today marks 1.5 years alcohol-free. Woo hoo!

And for those of us with a sick sense of humor:

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Legionnaires disease?!?

Conventions have convention parties. Some are more fun than others. I have personally attended a few at the Playboy Mansion and those are always great. There are live concerts, celebrities, naked women everywhere, cocktails... The first time I went I made out with a super hot porn star in the grotto. The second time I went I was naked, wearing body paint. My third time I wore a long form-fitting gown.

There was recently another Playboy Mansion party for an LA convention which I've attended in previous years. This year 80 people from the party became sick, some of whom have been diagnosed with Legionnaires' disease. A news report from NY Post suggests that this outbreak may have been caused from the fog machine at the Playboy Mansion.

Based on how it's spread, through inhaling infected water, a fog machine could easily be to blame. Also, the grotto--while wonderful--is a closed-in very humid area.

Many of my friends were at this party so as soon as I heard about it I immediately googled Legionnaire's disease. The symptoms include fever, chills, headache, muscle aches, coughing, and fatigue. However, this isn't just a normal flu; people die from it with average fatality rate of 5-30 percent!!

Some who live in LA believe this outbreak is not the fault of the Playboy Mansion. They reported that there is currently a problem with Legionnaires' disease in Southern California. Very scary!

Life Changes

For those of you who have been wondering, I started the new job a few weeks ago. Depending on how it goes, this may be a permanent change. The corporate mainstream world is a difficult lifestyle adjustment after years of "play time"...so, even though I am no longer stripping, I will continue blogging.     :)

The US Goverment wants to extend the Patriot Act

"Sacrificing liberty for safety and security" goes against everything our Founding Fathers stood for. It is scary that our current government wants to take so much power away from us while trampling on our Constitution.

I know very little about Ron Paul except that he is against the Patriot Act.
Why aren't more politicians willing to stand up and defend the rights of the people?

The ACLU describes the three provisions that would be extended under the bill:

Section 215 of the Patriot Act authorizes the government to obtain “any tangible thing” relevant to a terrorism investigation, even if there is no showing that the “thing” pertains to suspected terrorists or terrorist activities. This provision is contrary to traditional notions of search and seizure, which require the government to show reasonable suspicion or probable cause before undertaking an investigation that infringes upon a person’s privacy. Congress must ensure that things collected with this power have a meaningful nexus to suspected terrorist activity or it should be allowed to expire.

Section 206 of the Patriot Act, also known as “roving John Doe wiretap” provision, permits the government to obtain intelligence surveillance orders that identify neither the person nor the facility to be tapped. This provision is contrary to traditional notions of search and seizure, which require government to state with particularity what it seeks to search or seize. Section 206 should be amended to mirror similar and longstanding criminal laws that permit roving wiretaps, but require the naming of a specific target. Otherwise, it should expire.

Section 6001 of the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004, or the so-called “Lone Wolf” provision, permits secret intelligence surveillance of non-US persons who are not affiliated with a foreign organization. Such an authorization, granted only in secret courts is subject to abuse and threatens our longtime understandings of the limits of the government’s investigatory powers within the borders of the United States. This provision has never been used and should be allowed to expire outright.

I was bummed when Dennis Kucinich dropped out of the Presidential race.
He would've been a President for the People.

Does blurring of our rights bother you? It should. The U.S. Government isn't even following their own rule book anymore. What makes the United States so special? It's the CONSTITUTION!! We need to protect it.

What is too far?

In January 2003 Dick Delicious and the Tasty Testicles became the first ever recipients of the Annual Howard Stern Award for excellence in the field of music. They are rude, funny, out of control, shock rock.

** WARNING: Their songs are obscene. Don't click unless you are over 18. Their previous albums include "Last Man in the Gangbang", "$400 Shuffle" (a song about coming up with money for an abortion), "Pruning the Bush", "I Wish I was a Dog"..

...fast forward to now...

Their most recent song has been leaked early before their 4th album release--just in time to cause controversy with today's Black Eyed Peas Superbowl show:

Is there such a thing as going too far? The first amendment protects parody speech and Dick Delicious and the Tasty Testicles is obviously that. While they may be over most people's line, it's still parody.
