The song was godawful but made its point pretty well. This is one of the big reasons why I considered Battlestar Galactica the best show I've ever seen. One of the running themes is that human beings will do the same things over and over: "What has happened before will happen again". Even if a nuclear holocaust brings us from 5 billion people to 50,000, we'll still find a way to cause the same problems. There's hope to fix the little things but, as a whole,we seem to constantly trap ourselves in a never-ending cycle of wanton destruction based on fear and greed. They call it human nature, but that's probably humanity's excuse to keep the cycle going. Everyone has a choice.
